About Licensed Child Care Programs

MCRC embraces a Reggio Emilia inspired philosophy in all program areas. This is best described as an approach to learning which builds upon the interests of children. Interactions between children are closely observed by program teachers and children are given opportunities for learning, based on these observed interests. Staff, parents and children work as a collaborative team, directing learning through an enriched environment influenced by project work, communication through various media, research and documentation.  Our Teachers and Supervisors are Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) and all staff members are required to maintain their registration with the College of ECE as well as maintain a current First Aid / CPR certificate.

Milton Community Resource Centre believes in building Developmental Assets, within Reggio inspired environments, where children learn through play and discovery and staff use ELECT as the framework for observation, documentation and planning.
