The Creative World of Fibres – Wet and Needle Felting Workshop

Join ACT to learn about how natural fibres such as sheep’s wool, alpaca and silk can be transformed into art. Using traditional and modern methods, we will learn how the fibres change and combine to sculpt and become natural works of art.

In this session, we will learn about:

  • The properties of wool,
  • How wool is processed, dyed, carded and worked to create 2 and 3 dimensional pieces in wet and needled form.
  • How to recycle wool clothing and blankets into bases for felt pieces.

Connect to nature in a new way and learn about a natural and sustainable art form being used by artists and children all over the world.

Supplies provided for 3 small takeaway projects.

**Wear clothing that is comfortable, sleeves can be pulled up and can get wet due to water usage; we will be using sharp needles in our projects.

This workshop is for individuals age 16+.
