Mother Goose Drop-In

Parents, you “are the first and most powerful influence on your child’s learning, development, and well-being.” This group provides valuable time to connect with your baby as you sing-a-long to songs. This group offers an opportunity to demonstrate and expand on early literacy and language through repetition and memory. Our Registered Early Childhood Educator is your partner in this interactive and enjoyable session. There are now Drop-In Mother Goose programs located at MCRC, Main Branch Library, or Beaty Branch Library.

Age: 0-12 months

Adult & Child Together Drop-In - Family

Children grow and flourish in a positive environment and within the context of healthy relationships. Our Adult and Child together Drop-ins gives parents/caregivers and children an opportunity to explore, engage, and express themselves together which helps strengthen the bond between adult and child. There are many creative activities, sensory and early literacy experiences to choose from within the room and a registered Early Childhood Educator in a co-learner role with the adults and children participating. 

Age: Newborn to 6 years (not yet attending grade 1) No registration required

Locations:

  1. MCRC 410 Bronte Street S –Willow Room - Upstairs south entrance of building
  2. EarlyOn Child and Family Centre at Viola Desmond Public School, 1450 Leger Way
  3. Southside Community Church, 200 Main St E, upstairs, enter at rear entrance.

Music and Movement Drop-In

Offered 2 mornings per week. Let’s get active together! Adults and children can participate in a variety of gross motor activities that stimulate muscle development, balance, flexibility, coordination, language skills, turn taking and social skills all while having lots of fun! This program will include balls, slides, bean bags, hula hoops, tunnels, balance beam, and rocking boats as well as a musical component and circle time.  

Age: Newborn to 6 years (not yet attending grade 1)

Meet at Mill Pond - Adult & Child Together - Drop-in

This year-round, outdoor Early Years Drop-In program gives adults and children an opportunity to explore and discover the wonders of nature at the beautiful Mill Pond. Parents and caregivers will have a chance to develop language skills with their children while walking around the pond. Children often express themselves in new and different ways when placed in an outdoor environment. Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

Age: Newborn to 6 years
Location: Rotary Park Milton - 100 Garden Lane L9T 1S2  Participants will meet at the pool pavilion, near the side parking lot that faces the open field

Baby and Toddler Drop-In

Babies and toddlers grow and flourish in a positive age appropriate environment and within the context of healthy relationships. Our NEW Baby Toddler Drop-in gives parents/caregivers and children an opportunity to explore, engage, and express themselves together which helps strengthen the bond between adult and child. There are many creative activities, sensory and early literacy experiences to choose from within the room and a registered Early Childhood Educator in a co-learner role with the adults and children participating.

Playtime in Park

EarlyON will be at local parks over the summer (July/August) with fun, simple activities and resources for you and your children. There will be a variety of weekly visitors from the community along with Early Childhood Educators to provide support , resources and lots of fun! Artists and Families Together Drop-In

Children and families will have the opportunity to visit the newly renovated Artists and Children Together (ACT) art studio. Each week we will offer a variety of quality art materials for families to explore side by side with an ACT artist. Our Family Art studio Drop- in allows children and parents/caregivers to explore, engage and express themselves together through the arts. The possibilities are endless!

Age: 0 to 12 years -No registration required- Limited spaces. Younger siblings welcome.

Big Body Movement

Join us during this active drop-in time which promotes healthy lifestyle habits for your child's future wellbeing. Physical activity and movement of large muscles promotes coordination, balance, and flexibility and at the same time prepares your child for more challenging movements as they grow and develop. Experience a fun and energetic morning facilitated by our educators along with free active play.

Age: 0-6 years

Baby & Toddler Gross Motor Drop In

This NEW Baby Toddler Drop-in gives parents/caregivers and children an opportunity to explore, engage, and express themselves using larger muscles to build on their gross motor development.  The room is set up with a variety of larger equipment such as ramps, balls, ride on toys, and musical instruments to promote physical activity. A registered Early Childhood Educator in a co-learner role with the adults and children participating.
