Shimmy and Shake - SS001/SS002

Preschoolers need opportunities to be left on their own to learn coping skills, self-regulation and to prepare them for entering school. The Shimmy and Shake program encourages physical fitness while strengthening your child’s large muscles through active movement activities and music. Children will be left on their own to learn a variety of skills such as balance, coordination, flexibility, listening skills, social skills, language and cooperation. Led by a qualified staff with a background in music, this program is age specific, and offers a small group size with a ratio of 1 teacher per 8 children. It is a perfect program for helping your preschooler adjust gradually to being on their own. 

Age: 36 -60 months (child must already be 3 years of age)
Time: 1) Tuesdays 2:00 pm -3:00 pm
             2) Thursdays 12:00-1:00 pm
Duration: 7 weeks (unless statutory holiday on Friday or other program shut down, prices will be adjusted accordingly)
Cost: $70

Kids Konnection - KK001/KK002

Each week children ages 3 to 5 years (on their own ) will have an opportunity to play, engage and express their interests in a stimulating , age specific environment. Our qualified Registered Early Childhood Educators realize that each child is unique and learns in a different way through a variety of play based experiences. The environment acts as the third teacher and this in turn naturally provokes children to be curious and challenge themselves. The Registered Early Childhood Educators allow children to make choices around their play and still provide simple routines, and a sharing circle time. Each child will feel a sense of belonging and quickly adjust to being on their own. 

Age: 36 -60 months (child must already be 3 years of age)
Time: 1) Tuesdays 9:30 am -11:30 am
             2) Fridays 9:30 am -11:30 am
Duration: 15 weeks (unless statutory holiday on Friday or other program shut down, prices will be adjusted accordingly)
Cost: $300

Yoga - YOG001/YOG002

Yoga is beneficial for helping children to self-regulate and reducing their stress by learning how to calm and relax themselves. Children will learn to express themselves by exploring different ways to move their bodies while improving coordination, flexibility and strength. Your child will also learn Yoga vocabulary, and will be able to demonstrate to their parents all the new poses they learned! In this program children are left on their own with a small group size of 1 teacher per 8 children. 

Age: 36 -60 months (child must already be 3 years of age)
Time: 1) Monday 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
             2) Wednesday 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Duration: 7 weeks (unless statutory holiday on Monday or other program shut down, prices will be adjusted accordingly)

Infant Massage - IM001

Join a Certified Infant Massage Instructor to learn the art of forming secure relationships through infant massage techniques. Improve baby’s sleep, relieve gas, and other symptoms of infant stress.

Age: Newborn to 9 months
Time: Wednesdays 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Duration: 4 weeks (starting Sept. 13th)

Baby Milestones - BM001

Your baby’s brain is developing at an astounding rate. Learn the latest facts and scientific research and how you as a parent can best support healthy brain development and strong connections. There will be opportunities to learn and create brain building activities, network with other parents, celebrate your baby’s milestones, and make special keepsakes to capture your baby’s growth and development. This class is led by a Registered Early Childhood Educator with other professionals visiting as guest speakers. This is a small private class with only 6 participants.

Age: 2-6 months
Time: Tuesdays 2:30 pm -3:30 pm
Duration: 7 weeks

Rock-A-Bye Babies - RBB001

This interactive music program is designed to strengthen your baby’s listening skills, encourages adult and child bonding, while helping your baby to develop a sense of rhythm and beat through different musical experiences. Rock a Bye Babies introduces a variety of different music genres , playful musical activities using a variety of play props, creative movement, dancing, songs, and rhymes all led by a qualified Registered Early Childhood Educator. Each session the content will change, so there is an opportunity to join the program multiply times. This is a small private class with only 6 participants.

Busy Fingers Busy Feet - BF001/BF002/BF003

Babies learn best by using all their senses. Busy Fingers gives babies time and space to explore a variety of sensory experiences that are age appropriate, and help to strengthen babies’ understanding of their world. By encouraging free opportunities for babies to express themselves this stimulates further brain development, language and independence. A Registered Early Childhood Educator provides the right combination of play based experience, expertise and knowledge to make this one of our most popular programs! There is also a special keepsake of your baby’s first finger painting that will be captured through documentation for you to take home. This is a small private class with only 6 participants. 

Age: 9 -12 months

            2) Mondays 11:15 am-12:30 pm
            3)  Tuesdays 11:00am-12:15pm

Messing Around - MA001/MA002

Come engage with your toddler through creative exploration, and sensory experiences in a play based learning environment. All activities are age appropriate with special attention to how children learn best at this age.  Toddlers enjoy being with other children and are starting to learn the proper social skills and basic routines.  Our Registered Early Childhood Educator will be a facilitator and a co-learner documenting “how learning happens” and sharing this learning with the adult participants. Everyone one will have a strong sense of belonging in this age specific ,small sized private class with only 6 participants.

Rhythms and Rainbows - RR001/RR002

Let’s explore the world of art! This program introduces your toddler to a variety of different painting techniques, art mediums (such as clay, collage, pastels), and much more. All materials are safe,                non-toxic and age appropriate. To add to the art experience there is a music component where children can use musical play props, sing and dance all led by a qualified Registered Early Childhood Educator. You and your child will be inspired by the “arts” all while spending quality time together! This is a small private class with only 6 participants. 

Age: 12- 18 months

Does your toddler love to move, run, jump, crawl, skip and needs an opportunity in a safe, age appropriate space that allows this to happen naturally? This NEW program is just what you have been looking for. Toddlers are just learning to challenge themselves and become more independent so we have created a program that is age specific and lots of fun! Led by a qualified teacher with a background in music, this program will help your child with coordination, balance, flexibility, language and social skills.  

Age: 16-24 months
Time: 1) Tuesdays 9:15 am-10:00 am
2) Fridays 9:15am-10:00am
Duration: 7 weeks
Cost: $70 (Tuesdays), $60 (Fridays)

*NEW PROGRAM* Music In Motion - MM001/MM002

Music invites all of us to want to move and express ourselves. In this NEW program see how using many different music genres, instruments, songs, movement and dance will inspire you and your child to get active! This is an age specific program where your child has an opportunity to meet other children, which helps encourage social development. Language skills and learning simple routines will also be demonstrated. Our qualified staff has a music background and many years of experience running our music and movement programs at MCRC.  

Age: 25 to 36 months
Time: 1) Wednesdays 9:15 am -10:15 am
2) Fridays 10:30-11:30am
Duration: 7 weeks
Cost: $70 (Wednesdays), $60 (Fridays)

Discover Together - DT001/DT002

Are you and your child curious and have a need to learn and discover new things together? Preschoolers’ are always asking “why” and wanting to know more about their world, Discover Together nurtures this natural curiosity through a variety of play based activities. Come explore preschool math and language and the connection between the two, as well as science, singing and lots of other exciting choices in a rich child centered environment. Children at this age like to make choices and decisions for themselves as this helps with their self-esteem and confidence our curriculum allows children to freely express themselves and partake in activities that inspire them. This program is facilitated by a Registered Early Childhood Educator as well as an Artist as part of our Artist and Child Together initiative on Wednesdays only. 

Please note: Younger siblings may attend. Please register the oldest child only up to age 6 no yet attending grade 1 Discover Together fees include 1 adult with no more than two children. For families with more than 2 children participating an additional fee will apply.
