The focus of this presentation is to build self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-worth. After an initial icebreaker activity, we dive into why girls tend to have a lower self-esteem, and ask them: what makes you self-conscious? Why do we care about what others think, and who are we worried about? We go on to discuss what external pressures we experience as girls and women, why they may be damaging, and how we can overcome them by (for instance) using affirmations to increase our self-esteem and self-confidence. We engage in an activity that asks girls to list their strengths and values and discuss how we can use these lists to empower ourselves.
